Candle Care

Candle care

All candles are trimmed for the first burn. Please trim the wick before each burn thereafter. Wicks can be easily trimmed with wick trimmers.
Keep the lit candle inside and away from anything flammable.
Never leave a burning candle unattended or on a windowsill.
Lit candles are hot! Never touch the jar or tin while a candle is lit.
Do not burn candles for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. To ensure candles don't tunnel, make sure to always burn long enough so the wax pool reaches the edge of the container.  This may take 3 to 4 hours.
If your candle tunnels, please check the video at the top of this page.

Wax Melts

Want to change your wax melt scent? Use a cotton ball when the wax is liquefied. Add one or two cotton balls to the melted dish then remove. wipe clean

Wood wicks

1. Trim the wick: Before lighting your wooden wick candle, trim the wick to about 1/8 inch. This will help the candle burn evenly and prevent excess smoke.

2. Burn the candle for at least two hours: The first time you light your wooden wick candle, let it burn for at least two hours or until the wax has melted evenly across the surface. This will help prevent tunneling and ensure even burning in the future.

3. Keep the wick centered: As the candle burns, make sure the wick stays centered to prevent uneven burning. If the wick starts to drift to one side, gently push it back to the center with a toothpick or similar tool.

4. Extinguish the flame properly: To put out your wooden wick candle, use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Do not use water or blow out the flame forcefully, as this can damage the wick.

5. Store the candle properly: To prevent dust and debris from accumulating on the wax and wick, store your wooden wick candle in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat sources.

6. Clean the wax pool: After each use, remove any debris or burnt wick from the wax pool with a clean cloth or paper towel. This will help prevent the wick from getting clogged and ensure a clean burn for the next use.

7. Avoid drafts: Wooden wick candles are sensitive to drafts, which can cause uneven burning and excessive smoke. To prevent this, keep your candle away from open windows, doors, and fans.

8. Use a candle snuffer: To prevent the wick from getting damaged, use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out. This will help ensure a clean burn and prevent the wick from becoming too short.
